Surrey is a city in Canada's British Columbia. On the boundary between Canada and the United States, it is situated south of the Fraser River.
The regional district and metropolitan area of Metro Vancouver include it as a member municipality. Surrey, which is primarily a suburban metropolis, is the third-largest city in terms of area after Abbotsford and Prince George and the province's second-largest by population after Vancouver.
When compared to the province median of BC ($71,660) and the national median ($74,540), Surrey had the highest median family income in 2010 at CA$78,283. Family income was on average $85,765. Of Surrey's six town centers, the South Surrey area has the highest average household income, at $86,824, as of 2010. At $62,960, the median household income was likewise high. Rosemary Heights, in South Surrey, has the highest median income in the entire Metro Vancouver region and is also the wealthiest neighborhood in Surrey.
