🚫 WARNING TO OTHERS 🚫 (Frames damaged here — owner became hostile and ordered me out of the store) I brought my authentic Ferragamo prescription sunglasses in for a simple alignment. The frames were slightly bent but not broken. During the adjustment, the shop snapped the frame and then soldered it back together, leaving visibly uneven metal and burn marks. Despite causing this damage, they still charged me $100 (after first quoting $45, then $135, and only lowering the price when I challenged it). There has been a pattern of avoiding accountability: • The price changed multiple times with no explanation • They only offered replacement frames after I posted a negative review • They twice promised updates but never followed through When I went in person today to ask for a status update, the owner became hostile, told me he was cancelling the replacement in retaliation, and ordered me out of the store, physically walking me to the door while another customer was still seated. This was extremely upsetting and completely unprofessional. If you have high-end frames you care about, I strongly recommend choosing a different optician.

I had a deeply frustrating and unacceptable experience with Strozzi’s Eyewear, located at 1175 Mainland Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 5P2, owned by Dieter Saxer. In March 2024, I paid $592.59 CAD for frames and an additional $243.24 CAD for "EDA 2307" via PayPal, totaling over $835 CAD. Despite my payment, I never received the frames I ordered. On August 27, 2024, Dieter sent me a photo confirming he had all four pairs in his store, but he refused to ship them to me and has not issued a refund despite my requests. This lack of accountability and poor customer service is completely unacceptable for any business, especially one in the eyewear industry where trust is essential. What’s even more concerning is that Dieter Saxer also owns three other eyewear businesses: TANEX Eyewear in Vancouver, BC (since 2012), DiBOLe Factory in Shenzhen, China (since 2017), and Darkk Eyewear (lead designer since 2010). Given my experience with Strozzi’s Eyewear, I would strongly caution anyone against doing business with any of these companies. The risk of non-delivery, non-refunded payments, and poor communication seems high based on my ordeal. Save your money and shop elsewhere—I wish I had!
